REV. DR. MATT ANDREWS

Rev. Dr. Matt Andrews serves as Senior Pastor of Irondale United Methodist Church in Irondale, Alabama, where he began in October 2023. His heart is to help the people of God discover the love of Christ and learn how that love forms us in everyday life. Matt’s vision for Irondale UMC is to be a true neighborhood church for Irondale, Trussville, Leeds, and beyond, marked by warm, personal community and a deep commitment to discipleship. He hopes people experience Irondale UMC as a place where people of every age know their names and their children’s names, and is genuinely invested in their walk with Christ; a place where people may not always look alike, think alike, or come from the same background, but still learn to love one another like family; and a church that takes loving God and loving neighbor seriously in worship, service, and daily life.

Having begun pastoral ministry in 2009, Matt has served in congregational and clinical settings in Alabama, California, and Texas. He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Emory University, a Master of Divinity from Baylor University, and has completed six units of Clinical Pastoral Education. Additionally, he is a Certified Educator Candidate with the St. Matthew’s Pastoral Counseling Center, training to equip and form pastors and chaplains in pastoral care. Matt is married to Emily, and together they are grateful to be raising their three children, Elliot, Olivia, and Henry.
