Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
About
At Irondale UMC, missions isn’t a department—it’s a way of life. We believe God’s love looks like meals shared, burdens lifted, and neighbors cared for. If you’ve been looking for a way to serve that actually matters, come serve with us.

Circle of Friends
Circle of Friends is ministry for special needs adults. It was established in 1997 and has been going strong ever since. Our participants come from within the Irondale community and the surrounding Birmingham area. Circle of Friends meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the church fellowship hall from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our meetings consist of a meal followed by a fellowship activity.
Embrace AL Kids
We have built a strong partnership with Embrace Alabama Kids (formerly The United Methodist Children’s Home). This missional organization was established in 1871 to care for children orphaned during the Civil War and has evolved to help children and families as their needs grow and change.

They help place children into safe and loving foster care homes while helping to restore family relationships; prepare young adults who are still in Georgia’s foster care system to make positive life decisions and become productive citizens; and strengthen and preserve families, including by providing housing and support to families at risk of homelessness.

Community Collaborations
Our church collaborates with the local schools and organizations to ensure people are treated with love and dignity. This care translates into regular donations to our Community Blessing Box, Christmas gifts for elementary school children, lunch/snacks for teachers/football & basketball players, and so much more. We like to dream big when it comes to serving our community, so we welcome your imagination!
