1. Our Commitment
Irondale United Methodist Church is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe every person is created in the image of God and deserves unhindered access to our online resources and community. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
2. Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. We strive to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
3. Ongoing Efforts
To maintain an accessible experience, we work to implement the following:
-
Alt Text: Providing descriptive text for images so they can be read by screen readers.
-
Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring our site can be navigated using only a keyboard.
-
Color Contrast: Using contrast ratios that meet or exceed 4.5:1 for standard text.
-
Transcripts & Captions: Offering text alternatives for audio and video content where possible.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet fully meet the highest accessibility standards (e.g., archived PDFs or older video content). We are actively seeking solutions to resolve these issues.
5. Feedback & Support
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on our website, please let us know so we can assist you and improve our site:
